Shawndell WintersChicago’s next Cruiserweight beast is smashing through competition.

Winters puts in his work at Sam Colonna Boxing Gym under the strong team of Sam and Rita Figueroa, working with and alongside of Mike “Hollywood” Jimenez, “The Polish Prince” Andrzej Fonfara, and others.

On Wednesday evening, Winters (6-05, KOs) faced a strong Joey Montoya (9-4-3, 3 KOs) of Colorado Springs, CO in a 4-round bout on the yearly Hitz Boxing Thanksgiving special edition of Fight Night at the Horseshoe.

Winters faced his toughest opponent of his early career and inflicted the heavy punches for a full 4 rounds, connecting on hard lefts and heavier rights to Montoya whole upper body. Montoya exited the ring with many battle wounds on his face.

After 4 complete rounds, the judges scored it justly 4 rounds to zero in favor of the hometown warrior. Winters remains undefeated with the Unanimous Decision victory and gave the crowd a show.

This has been Winters’ best showing and with a quality opponent.
