King Carlos Promocion is again hosting womens boxing on her self-promoted shows in Mexico.
Former IBF Super Welterweight Champion “King” Carlos Molina stated, “Women’s boxing is the most exciting sport in Mexico. We always plan to feature women’s boxing on all of our events in Patzcuaro, because we know they will have the best fights of the night!”
Molina, whom spent much of his life in Chicago-land area, is scheduled to be featured on his own show. Working with Chicago-based Manager and friend Rick Ramos, Rick Ramos Boxing helped solidify Alejandra “Fenix” Ayala’s matchup at home.
On Saturday, Ayala (12-4, 7 KOs) returns home to Mexico (from her adopted home of Chicago) to entertain her family and friends in a Welterweight Mexico #1 vs. #2.
“Fenix” Ayala will square off with the young and ambitious Claudia Paola “Pao” Rángel (1-2) as she looks to add more serious hardware to her grasp like her stablemate WBC and WBA Super Lightweight Champion Jessica “Caskilla” McCaskill.
At 36 years of age, Molina is determined to add championship gold again. “I have always worked hard but 2 months ago I decided to take my training to another level, today I have 60 days working out with no days off. I am focused on a World title and I will not settle for anything less!”
The “King” crushed Cory Spinks in February of 2013 to earn a shot at the IBF Super Welterweight belt before outpointing Floyd Mayweather’s champion Ishe Smith for the IBF Gold and Red strap.
Never one to avoid challenges, Molina keep banging for purpose… to grab gold! The champ takes his next step towards that goal on Saturday.
Adding to the Chicago flavor, Molina cited, “I also have Dimar (Ortuz) on the card making his comeback.”
The very humble Ortuz (11-1-2, 8 KOs) has had a rocky career of late, sitting inactive for almost 3 years. He has been featured on Rick Glaser’s “Knockout” TV series, which led to a working relationship with Shane Mosley. But, promotional drama hindered his progress. In the meantime, Ortuz kept himself busy and fit in construction. Recently, he relocated to California and it’s full steam ahead.
